How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners to create your new, perfect smile. Firstly, you'll pop into your local dentist where they'll take some scans of your current teeth. The advanced 3D smile scanning software will then generate a model of how your teeth look. Once this is done, your dentist can create a plan of how each tooth should gradually be moved to give you the perfect smile.
Once both the dentist and patient is happy, this treatment plan is then sent off to the state of the art Invisalign labs where they'll create your series of aligners. Each set of aligners will be slightly closer to how we want your teeth to eventually look. As your teeth move into the position of one aligner, we'll move you on to the next set and so on until your new smile is created.

Invisalign is very much unnoticeable and almost invisible to the naked eye (unless you are really close up!). Here’s an example of how the aligners look so you can get an idea as to just how discrete looking they are.
It is recommended to wear your Invisalign aligners for 20-22 hours per day. This gives you plenty of time to remove them whilst eating and brushing/flossing your teeth. If you choose to wear the aligners for less than this amount of time then your treatment time is likely to be increased and so a level of discipline is required!
The average Invisalign treatment time varies dramatically depending on your specific situation. On average it’s likely to take 6-18 months, however, if the level of movement is minor then Invisalign Go can be used to achieved faster results.
Invisalign can be used by any aged person as long as your full set of adult teeth have come through. There is an Invisalign teens option for those teenagers who don’t want to wear fixed braces. There’s also the regular Invisalign treatment designed to help adults achieve their perfect smile whilst affecting their current lifestyle minimally.
