Vietnam Just Had Its Biggest Tourism Month Ever — Here’s What That Means for You

That’s an 18.5% jump compared to January last year. And the growth isn’t just coming from one region. Australian visitor numbers shot up by 42% month-on-month, with over 75,000 Aussies making the trip. American arrivals topped 103,000. European visitors came in strong at 424,000 total, with markets like Poland and Switzerland seeing particularly impressive growth.
What’s driving all this? A few things working together. Vietnam’s 90-day e-visa policy has made entry a breeze — no more scrambling for paperwork or worrying about tight turnaround times. Airlines have added more direct routes. And frankly, the word is out: Vietnam offers incredible value, stunning scenery, and a food scene that international media can’t stop talking about.
For our patients at Picasso Dental, this is something we’ve seen firsthand. More international travelers are bundling dental work with a proper holiday — spending a week getting their smile sorted, then heading to Ha Long Bay, Hoi An, or Da Lat to recover and explore. Vietnam’s tourism infrastructure has matured enormously, which means better hotels, easier transport, and more English-friendly services everywhere you go.
The government is targeting 25 million foreign visitors for 2026 as a whole. If January is anything to go by, they’ll blow past it.
